A customer who orders both lunch and dinner does not necessarily receive two meals every day. They may take lunch only on weekdays and dinner on weekends, or skip one slot while keeping the other. A single “daily tiffin” quantity can conceal these differences.

Create clear meal definitions

Name the services “Lunch Tiffin” and “Dinner Tiffin” when their rates or delivery days differ. Define whether the price covers one meal or a family pack. Record each slot's days and quantities so a cancellation can affect the correct meal.

Use one customer account for the person who pays, with separate meal records under that account. Creating a new customer for each slot can split receipts and make the combined balance difficult to understand.

Worked example

A fictional customer receives 20 lunches at ₹80 and 18 dinners at ₹90. Lunch charges are ₹1,600 and dinner charges are ₹1,620, giving ₹3,220 before payments or other agreed adjustments. After receiving ₹2,000, the remaining due is ₹1,220.

If one dinner was already excluded from the count of 18, do not subtract another ₹90 as a skip credit. If the customer adds a second dinner for a guest, record that extra quantity on the correct date.

Set schedules in DAM

Create the appropriate recurring meal workflows using the same customer account. Set frequency, price and start date independently for lunch and dinner. Check how the generated statement presents both workflows; use the customer ledger to reconcile combined receipts when necessary.

Review the first week against actual supplies before letting the arrangement continue. A single lunch cancellation should not stop dinner unless that is what the customer requested.

Explain bundled discounts

If you offer a combined monthly discount, document whether it applies to the whole period or depends on a minimum number of meals. Show the discount separately or use the agreed package rate consistently. Do not alternate between both methods without checking the final total.
